Huan’s journey is inspiring. It weaves together diverse cultural influences and rich professional experiences. Growing up in the culturally vibrant northwest of China, she developed a deep appreciation for the interconnectedness of different cultures, arts, and music. This global perspective has shaped her framework and approach as a psychotherapist.

Following her master’s degree in clinical and counseling psychology from Chestnut Hill College in Philadelphia, Huan has worked in various mental health settings, including outpatient clinics, family-based services where she worked with families in their homes and schools, day treatment facilities, and psychiatric hospitals. The wide spectrum of clinical experience at the Child Guidance Resource Center enabled Huan to hone her skills as a family-based therapist, addressing a wide range of challenges related to children and adolescents’ anxiety, depression, attentional difficulties, and family conflict. Huan’s systemic family therapy training equipped her to navigate the complexities of relationships within families.

On a personal level, Huan’s experiences as a mother of a young boy have enriched her understanding of parenting and intergenerational trauma. She loves cooking, music, art, and dance, which reflect her philosophy that creative self-expression can lead to healing and clarity. She also plays piano, which has influenced her attunement to nuances of expression that she brings to her therapy practice.

Huan embraces a holistic approach to therapy. She firmly believes that mental, physical and spiritual well-being are interconnected, and her focus is fostering a sense balance and connection in the lives of individuals and families.

Huan works at Building Bridges, a Center for Healing and Change, in Media, Pa. For questions about her practice or for an appointment, contact her at 856-433-4973 or huan0011999@gmail.com. She speaks English and Mandarin.
