Fran Henkel, MS
Fran is a family therapist with 35 years of experience working with children, adolescents, and their families in a variety of settings including independent and public schools; inpatient and outpatient programs; services for families in their home/community; and in private practice at Building Bridges. The challenges that disrupt a child’s development (e. g. Anxiety, Depression, Separation/Divorce, Academic difficulty related to Learning Disabilities or ADHD, and other clinical presentations) require the essential adults at home, in school and community to work as a Team.
The post-graduate training Fran received at the Philadelphia Child Guidance Clinic provided the foundation for the systemic orientation he brings to each family. Fran brings a calm, collaborative approach to guiding parents and other essential members of the Team as they try to establish a mutually agreed upon understanding of the young person’s struggles. As this new pattern of communication, collaboration, and connection within the Team, and between the Team members and the struggling young person intensifies, creative plans to support growth and development becomes a possibility.
If you find that Fran’s background and longstanding commitment to providing service to young people and their families meets the expectations you have in mind, please contact him for a consultation.
